The Georgetown Journal of International Affairs is the official semi-annual publication of the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service.
Mission
Our mission is threefold. (1) The Journal seeks to provide our readers a breadth of perspective by giving voice to leading academics, policy makers, and analysts from six continents. (2) The Journal takes a holistic approach to international affairs, publishing articles from a range of fields;international and multidisciplinary perspectives on a wide range of current international issues; (3) a Forum offering unique, focused, in-depth analysis of key issues; and nine regular sections: books, business & finance, conflict & security, culture & society, law & ethics, a look back, politics & diplomacy, science & technology, and a view from the ground.
History
The Georgetown Journal of International Affairs was conceived in 1998 to complement the university's foreign affairs program. The first issue of the Journal was published in the spring of 2000. Since then, the Journal has established a unique identity and global reputation.
Widely recognized and distributed internationally, the Journal is in continuous expansion. The Journal is currently distributed in over 150 retail outlets nationwide and has subscribers worldwide. It is indexed by Columbia International Affairs Online and the Public Affairs Information Service, and articles are regularly excerpted by the Chronicle of Higher Education and PricewaterhouseCoopers' Executive Digest.
